Summer Maid spends her days geeking out to all things nutrition and body. She is a nutritionist who is passionate about helping others heal their body in order to listen more clearly to mind and spirit. She runs a private practice where she sees clients one-on-one as well as teaches nutrition groups in the community and in local hospitals.
She was born in a suburb of Chicago but moved to Colorado at the age of twelve. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience from Loyola University Chicago and a certification as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Gut and Psychology Syndrome Practitioner. Over the past decade, she has worked as an adolescent mental health counselor, adolescent wilderness therapy counselor, and teen librarian.
Summer and her husband, Javi, enjoy a life of travel and getting their hands and feet in the dirt. She loves all things adventure and is found backpacking, snowboarding, playing tennis, stand up paddle boarding, and always looking for more ways to explore nature and the world. She fears whales, a worldwide shortage of chocolate, and the squeaky sound of tissue paper hitting fingernails. She loves music that requires dancing and food that requires seconds. She’s a free spirit trying to do her best at adulting.
