San Valdez Burch

San lives in Northern Colorado. She has 20 years’ experience in Kids' Ministry with a passion and vision for the spiritual development of children. Her desire is to foster a whole-child love for the spiritual journey and spiritual formation. She also loves helping women who are walking through difficult times in their life and feel unseen and forgotten.

On February 14, 2005, San received a call that turned her world upside down. She woke up excited to spend her first Valentine’s day married to Thomas and ready to make special memories but it quickly changed when her neurologist told her she had MS. On the outside, she looked the same but on the inside, she was broken. Suffering through temporary paralysis, temporary blindness, and living daily with pain made her more aware of those around her who felt paralyzed, blind, and who walk alone in pain and suffering.  She made a decision to not allow her pain to keep her bound but to flourish in the midst.

San and her husband Thomas have one human child Luke and one furry child named Scooby Doo. She loves reading, writing, and long road trips with her family. Any chance San gets, she travels to San Antonio to see her sisters, friends, family, and eat as much Tex-Mex food as she can.

Habakkuk 3:17-18

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
